The event
Also known as a “speaker orchestra,” acousmonium is a sound diffusion system for electroacoustic music developed in France in the 1970s. By arranging loudspeakers of various sizes and types around the audience, it creates a spatial musical experience.
For this event, the Shizuoka University of Art and Culture invited Nathanaëlle Raboisson (2020, music) together with one of Japan’s leading experts, Tomonari Higaki, who will provide an accessible introduction to the history and key listening points of the Acousmonium.
The concert will also feature works created by students from the university.
