About the event

During her residency at Villa Kujoyama in 2025, designer Marion Vidal explored bamboo as a creative territory in its own right. She reveals its singularity, physical properties, and symbolic resonance, while pushing the material toward a sculptural expression.

Precious Bamboo inaugurates her first collaboration with Galerie MiniMasterpiece.

By choosing bamboo—an unexpected material in the world of precious jewelry—Marion Vidal invents a new language of forms. She works with its rapid growth, its connection between earth and sky, and its textures and contrasts—nodes, surfaces, light and shadow, variations in scale—to find a point of balance between the organic freedom of the material and a precise, deliberately minimal line.

Once the bamboo has been sculpted between geometric rigor and naturalistic impulses, Marion Vidal creates compositions that combine flat and curved lines, punctuated with flashes of yellow gold. Gold acts like a breath, a subtle rhythm that reveals the poetry of the plant. Like the light that guides bamboo in its growth, gold lifts it from the earth and brings it to the body, transforming it into a jewel of desire—vibrant and sensual.

Between sculpture and jewelry, the collection extends the Tale of the Bamboo Cutter and the story of Kaguya-hime, the princess of light: an apparition born from matter, traversed by light, allowing the shadow of a Japanese legend to emerge.
