Presentation
Contemporary dancer and choreographer Taos Bertrand studied literature and philosophy at the Sorbonne in Paris, and contemporary dance at Conservatoire des Abbesses-Paris. Her collaborations include with choreographer Olivier Dubois (Tragédie and Auguri), visual artist Jean-Luc Verna, stage director Marine Mane, singer-songwriter Rahim Redcar and the (LA) HORDE collective. With her RADAR company, Bertrand has choreographed works such as Orages (2015), Rafales (2017) and Inside Your Bones (2019). She explores the choreographic experience as a relationship with space and void, with the Other, and with a form of vibratory intensity.

Project
Vestiges
Taos Bertrand wanted to make contact with Japanese spatiality, tracing a tactile, subterranean dance that would be shared between the horizon of the self and the abyss within. In doing so, she drew on Noh theatre’s sliding walk and the consolatory gestures in certain funeral ceremonies. These choreographic, documentary and fictional materials formed the basis for La Fin des Forêts, a piece for four performers and a sound artist.
