Project
How do Japanese oenologists associate local ceramic with the maturation of rice wine? in the light of French wine-tasting criteria, what is the best form for a cup when tasting Japanese sake? Grégory Rosenblat plans to harness porcelain’s various properties to create a sake cup that will enhance the drinking experience.
What are the differences, and similarities, between French and Japanese gastronomic cultures? How do the objects we use for eating and drinking influence how food and drink are consumed? This project for a sake cup is part of a wider reflexion on gastronomy as both traditional and innovative. By calling on the ancient skills of ceramists in Kyoto and Limoges, it sets out to create aesthetic objects that have a meaningful role in the tasting and enjoyment of Japanese sake.
